The Shannon Point Marine Center is currently accepting applications for the 2014 Multicultural Initiative in the Marine Sciences: Undergraduate Participation (MIMSUP) program. This US National Science Foundation-funded program (now in its 24th year and recognized with a Presidential Award for student mentoring) is intended to increase the diversity of individuals pursuing careers in the marine science by funding students to spend 5 months studying at Shannon Point (Western Washington University). The fully funded program covers all participant costs including tuition and fees, travel, housing and a stipend earned through outreach teaching in local K-12 classrooms. Additional details, including how to apply, can be found at http://www.wwu.edu/mimsup. Application deadline is Friday, November 8th.
